Do not grieve, greatly favoured ones. You will see Krsna close by. He is inside the heart of all beings, as light is inside the firewood. For he is without self-regard: no one is dear to him and no one is hateful; and to him who is the same toward all there is no higher and no lower, and no one unlike him either. He has no mother and no father, no wife, no children and the rest; no one who is his own and no one who is another; and no body and no birth. Nor has he any work in the world among births good or bad or mixed. Even so, for the sake of play he takes shape, and for the keeping safe of the good. Being himself beyond the strands, he takes up the strands, clarity and passion and darkness. Playing, though he is beyond the strands, the unborn one makes, keeps and destroys.

As to a man who is spinning the earth seems to spin, so, where the mind is the doer, the self is taken to be the doer by the thought of I. This Bhagavan, Hari, is not the son of you two alone. He is everyone's son, and their self, their father and their mother: he, the Lord. What is seen and what is heard, what has been and is and will be, what stands and what moves, the great and the small: apart from the Unfallen there is nothing at all that can be spoken of. He alone is everything, being what is real in the highest sense.
