15In heaven, on earth, below the earth, what women are out of his reach, whose smile is a lovely lie and whose eyebrow arches so? Fortune herself waits on the dust of his feet. What are we? And yet the name 'whose renown is highest' belongs on the side of the poor. 16Take your foot off my head. I know you: you learned this soothing from Mukunda, coming with your coaxing and your errands. For his own sake we here gave up children and husband and the world to come, and he let us go, with no heart in him. What is there to make up with him about? 17Like a hunter he shot the lord of the monkeys, in a poacher's way. Ruled by a woman, he made a woman ugly who came to him wanting him. He ate Bali's offering and then trussed Bali up like a crow. So enough of friendship with the dark one, though the point of his story is hard to give up.
18One drop in the ear of the nectar of his play as it is told, swallowed once, shakes off the pull of the opposites and undoes them. In a moment they leave a house and a wretched family, and wretched themselves, many here go about like birds, living on what is given.
