Hearing what their dearest had sent them in this way, the women of Vraja were glad, and with their memories brought back by that message they said to Uddhava: By good fortune Kamsa is killed, the enemy of the Yadus, the maker of harm, with his followers. By good fortune the Unfallen is well now, among his own, who have everything they wanted. Tell us, gentle one, does the elder brother of Gada now give the city women the love that was ours, honoured as he is by their tender, shy, smiling, open glances? How would he not be caught, who knows exactly what pleasure is and is dear to the women of the city, courted by their talk and by the play in their eyes?

Good man, does Govinda ever remember us, when country women come up in the loose talk of a gathering of city women?
