1Hearing Vaidarbhi's message, the delight of the Yadus took the brahmin's hand in his own and, laughing, said this. 2Bhagavan said: My mind too is on her, and I get no sleep at night. I know that Rukmi out of hatred has blocked my marriage. 3I will bring her here, crushing those base princes in battle, she who is set on me and whose limbs are past finding fault with, as a tongue of fire is lifted out of the kindling. 4Knowing the star under which Rukmini's wedding fell, the slayer of Madhu said to his charioteer: Daruka, have the chariot yoked at once. 5And he brought up the chariot yoked with the horses Saibya, Sugriva, Meghapuspa and Balahaka, and stood before him with his palms joined.
6Mounting the chariot, the son of Sura took the brahmin up beside him, and with swift horses came from Anarta to Vidarbha in a single night.
