Bhagavan said: Lord of men, asking is blamed by the wise in a kshatriya in name only who keeps to his own duty. Even so I ask you for your daughter, out of a wish for your friendship; for we do not give a bride price. Lord, what other suitor for the girl could be wished for here who is above you, in whose body Sri, who never goes away, has her dwelling, the one home of every good quality? But an agreement was made by us before this, bull of the Satvatas, to test the strength of the men, out of a wish to find the best husband for the girl. These seven bulls, hero, are hard to tame and hard to hold. Very many kings' sons have been broken by them and had their bodies torn.

If these should be held down by you yourself, delight of the Yadus, then you are the husband my daughter wants, lord of Sri. Hearing the agreement so, the mighty one tied up his clothes, made himself seven, and held them down as easily as play. Binding them with ropes, their pride broken and their force struck down, the son of Sura dragged them about bound, in play, as a child drags wooden ones.
