46Lotus-eyed one, let me have love for your feet, though you take your delight in the self and look no further than yourself in me. When you take on passion beyond measure for the growth of this world, then you look at me; and that too is the greatest pity in you towards us. 47I do not think your word untrue at all, slayer of Madhu. For, as it was with Amba, a girl's liking may at times be for another. 48And even in a married woman, if she is loose, the mind goes to what is new and new again. A man who knows should not keep an unfaithful woman; keeping her, he falls from both.
