His mother, Kotara by name, naked, with her hair let loose, stood in front of Krsna to save her son's life. Then the elder brother of Gada turned his face aside and would not look at the naked woman; and in that time Bana, his chariot gone and his bow cut through, went into the city. When the host of spirits had been driven off, the Fever, three-headed and three-footed, came running at the Dasarha as though it were burning the ten directions. Then the god Narayana, seeing it, let loose his own fever; and the two fevers, the one of the great Lord and the one of Visnu, fought each other. The great Lord's fever, hurt by the strength of Visnu's, cried out. Finding no safety anywhere else, frightened, it wanted refuge, and with its palms joined and itself made ready it praised the lord of the senses.
