10Jambavati said: The one who made my body, not knowing him for his own master and god, the husband of Sita, fought with him for thrice nine days. Then, knowing him and having tested him, he took hold of his feet and offered me with the jewel as a gift. I am his servant. 11Kalindi said: He knew I was doing austerities in the hope that his feet would touch me, and he came with a friend and took my hand. I am the one who sweeps his house. 12He came to my own choosing and beat the kings and carried me off, as the enemy of elephants carries his prey out of a pack of dogs, past my brothers who were doing him harm, to his own city, the home of Sri. Birth after birth may the washing of his feet be mine.
13There were seven bulls of great strength and force with very sharp horns, which my father had got together to test the strength of kings. He who breaks the pride of heroes took hold of them at once and tied them up as though at play, the way children tie up kids. 14So he won me, whose price was strength, with my maids and my army of four parts, and beat the kings on the road, and carried me away. May his service be mine.
