I asked for children, not for release· Verses 7–9

7Even so, brahmin, we ask you for the dharma of the Lord's own, hearing which with trust a mortal is loosed from fear on every side. 8It seems that long ago I worshipped the Endless, who gives release here on earth — but I wanted children by it and not release, bewildered as I was by the god's maya. 9Teach us, you of good vows, in such a way that by you we may be loosed at once and straight out from this trouble of many kinds and this fear from every quarter.
