44Now tell us of one of the Lord's own: what his dharma is and of what kind among men, how he behaves and what he says, and by what marks he is dear to the Bhagavan. 45He who sees in all beings the presence of the Bhagavan, who is his own self, and sees beings within the Bhagavan, the self: he is the best among the Lord's own. 46He who gives love to the Lord, friendship to those who depend on him, pity to the simple, and no notice at all to those who hate: he is of the middling kind. 47He who works with trust at the worship of Hari in the image alone, and not toward those devoted to him nor toward anyone else, is counted the plainest of the Lord's own.
