Bhagavan said: I have already made out what you say, lord of the gods. Your work is all done, and the earth's burden has been taken down. But this family of the Yadavas, swollen with strength and daring and splendour, wanted to swallow the world, and I have held it back as the shore holds the great sea. If I go without drawing in this huge family of the proud Yadus, the world will be destroyed by their flooding over it. The destruction of the family, born of the twice-born men's curse, has already begun. When it is over, faultless Brahma, I will come to your dwelling. Spoken to in this way by the lord of the worlds, the self-born god bowed low before him and went with the crowds of gods to his own abode.
