1Bhagavan said: What you say to me, greatly favoured one, is exactly what I mean to do. Brahma, Bhava and the guardians of the worlds want me to come and live in heaven. 2I have carried out here, with nothing left over, the work of the gods, for which I came down by a portion of myself when Brahma asked it. 3The family, burnt through by the curse, will perish in fighting among themselves; and on the seventh day the sea will flood this city. 4The moment this world is left by me, good man, its auspiciousness will be gone from it, and before long Kali will overturn it as well. 5You yourself must not live here when this earth has been left by me. In the Kali age, good one, people will take their pleasure in wrongdoing.
6So give up everything, and the love you have for your own people and your kin. Set your mind on me steadily, and walk the earth seeing all of it alike.
