Bhagavan said: In the world, men who see clearly how the world really is mostly lift themselves out of their ill purpose by themselves. The self is the teacher of the self, and for a human being especially so, since by what is before his eyes and by what he can infer he finds out what is good. And in the human state the steady, who are at home in enumeration and in yoga, see me most openly of all, filled out with every power. Many are the cities made: with one foot, two, three, four, with many feet and with none. Of all of them the one made for a man is dear to me. Here men who are joined truly hunt me out, the Lord, by reasons, by the qualities they take hold of and by the marks: by inference they seek me, who am not to be taken hold of.

On this they tell an old story too: the talk between the avadhuta and Yadu, whose splendour had no measure.
