45So spoken to by him whose thought is Hari, Uddhava went round him keeping him at his right, laid his head at his feet, and, though he was beyond the pairs, at the parting his understanding melted and he wet them with drops of tears. 46Cut through by the parting from an affection very hard to give up, unable to leave him, sick with it, he went with difficulty; and bearing his master's sandals on his head, he bowed and went, again and again. 47Then, having set him within his heart, that great one among the Lord's own went to Visala, and, taking up austerity as the one friend of the world had told him, he went the way of Hari.
48This undying draught of knowledge, drawn out of the sea of bliss, spoken to one of the Lord's own by Krsna, whose feet the lords of yoga serve: whoever tends it with true trust, the world is set free. 49To take away the fear of becoming, the maker of the sacred word gathered the essence of knowing and knowing fully, the essence of the Veda, as a bee gathers; and out of the ocean he gave his servants the undying draught to drink. To that first Person, the bull, called Krsna, I bow.
