King, these rulers of men I have told you of, and others besides, made the ground their own and at the last let it go and went to their end. At the end a man's body is called worms, or dung, or ashes, though he goes by the name of king; and for its sake he does harm to living beings. What does he know of his own good, when hell comes of it? How shall this earth stay whole, held as it was by the men before me, and be my son's, and his son's, and my own line's after me? Taking the body made of fire and water and food to be the self, not knowing better, and the earth to be their own, they let both go at the last and passed out of sight.

Whatever lords of the earth there are, king, who hold the ground by their force, time has made every one of them nothing more than a story inside the stories.
