Mādhau, the thirst for water will not go. In the middle of the water a fire has risen higher still. *(refrain)* You are the ocean of water; I am a fish of the water. In the water I live; without the water I waste away. You are the cage; I am your little parrot. What can Death the cat do to me? You are the tree; I am the bird. Ill-fated as I am, I have no sight of you. You are the Satigur; I am the new disciple. Says Kabīr, meet me at the hour of the end.
