In plain words

Stop, stop, young bride, do not draw the veil across your face. At the last hour it will not gain you so much as a cowrie. *(refrain)* The women who went before you went with the veil drawn down. Do not set out along their road. This is all the honour that drawing the veil will bring: for ten days or five, 'the bride has come, and she is a good one.' Your veil will hold true only if that you sing Hari's praises and leap and dance. Says Kabīr, the bride wins only then, when her whole life goes by singing Hari's praises.
