In plain words
Veda and *Katēb* are made-up talk, brother, and the worry in the heart does not go. Still your breath for one small moment and Khudā is there, present before you. Servant, search your own heart every day; do not go wandering about in distress. This world is a fair of conjuring, and there is nothing in it to take hold of. *(refrain)* They read out falsehood and read it again and are pleased; knowing nothing, they wrangle. The Real, the True, the Khālik is in among the khalak, and not in the image of Śyām. Be a faqīr, and be one always; put on the glasses and he is present wherever you look. Allah is the pure of the pure; I would doubt only if there were a second. Kabīr, the *karam* is Karīm's, and the one who does it knows it. *katēb*, the revealed books: Torah, Psalms, Gospel, Qur'ān. In the last line *karam* is favour, and *Karīm*, the Generous One, is whose favour it is.
