World, be on your guard, be awake: wide awake you are being robbed, brother. The scriptures stand watchmen, wide awake, and in plain sight Death carries you off. *(refrain)* The neem has turned mango and the mango neem; the banana has ripened in a thicket. The coconut has ripened on the silk cotton tree. Fools, dullards, boors. Hari has become sugar scattered in the sand, and an elephant cannot pick it up. Says Kabīr, leave family and caste and lineage, become an ant, and pick it up and eat. *sēbari*, the silk cotton tree, whose pods hold nothing but floss.
