The drum has sounded in the sky; the blow has fallen on the mark. The warrior has taken the field. Now is the hour to fight it out. Know him for a hero who fights for the sake of the *dīn*. Cut to pieces, piece by piece, he dies, and he never once leaves the field. *dīn* means the faith, and it also means the poor and the helpless. The line means both.
