In plain words

The poet, surrendering to the Lord of Viṟṟuvakkōṭu: Even if her husband does what all who see it scorn, a wife of noble family knows no one but the man who wedded her. Like her, O Lord of Viṟṟuvakkōṭu, ringed on every side by walls that touch the sky, even if you took me and then do not keep me as your servant, I will hold to your feet with their ringing anklets alone as my refuge.
