In plain words

A cowherd girl, to Kṛṣṇa, in a lovers' quarrel: Holding close a girl whose waist is as slender as lightning, drawing your cloth like gold over your head as a hood, you went through my street in the thick darkness, and I stood and watched you go. I stood and saw you, too, signal with your eyes to another girl who caught your eye and beckon her with your hand. Why have you left her and come here? Go back there still, O perfect one.
