Revered sir,
I received your two letters some days ago. I was overjoyed to see in your heart that wonderful union of jñāna and bhakti. The tyāga of argument and reasoning that you counsel is very right indeed, and that is the aim of every life: ‘the knot of the heart is cut’, and the rest. But, as my Guru Maharaj used to say, a pitcher gurgles while it is being filled and falls silent when it is full; know that it is the same with me. I think I shall be able to see you within two or three weeks. May God fulfil the wish of my heart.
Your servant,
Narendra.
