In plain words

Tiruvōttūr of abiding fame; Tiruvāmāttūr; Pulivalam of him in whose matted hair the full water circles; Vilvalam; Koccai; Tiruppaṉaṅkāṭu, where his servants gather; good Mākaṟal: these are the temples of Ēkampar, who, when Death comes, says to it, “You may not!” and gives grace to his servants.

Line by line

Tiruvōttūr of abiding fame; Tiruvāmāttūr; full water circles in his matted hair: his Pulivalam; Vilvalam; Koccai; where servants gather, Tiruppaṉaṅkāṭu; good Mākaṟal; when Death comes, saying, you may not, he who gives grace to his servants, Ēkampar's temples indeed.
