In plain words

The child says: "You say, 'Come,' and take my hand, and if you twist the stud into my ear by force so that it hurts, what harm is it to you here? My ears will ache; I cannot bear it." Yaśōdā answers: "I have brought nāval fruit [the black jambu] and kept it for you: look at it, perfect one! Dāmōdara, who long ago drank the milk of the treacherous woman [Pūtanā] till she died, and kicked the cart [Śakaṭa] till it broke, come here!"
