In plain words

The poet, of Kaṇṭam: Our Dāśarathi, who cut off the nose of the sister [Śūrpaṇakhā] and the heads of her elder brother [Rāvaṇa], went back [to Ayodhyā] and ruled the kingdom [eleven thousand years] while his fame alone filled every place: the dwelling of our Puruṣōttama is the eminent city called Kaṇṭam, standing on the bank of the Gaṅgā for his devotees to worship with joined hands, the Gaṅgā whose very name, said as Gaṅgā, Gaṅgā [even by one bathing elsewhere], can root out cruel sins.
