In plain words

The poet, of Araṅgam: As a boar with strong tusks he dug up the boundless earth, and as a lion with gleaming teeth he tore open the asura [Hiraṇya]: his town is the place called Araṅgam of the walls, where at dusk the great-winged bees lovingly sing the qualities of our Lord and blow the jasmine buds as white conches.
