In plain words
The poet, to the Lord: O Kaṇṇaṉ, O you who made the four-faced Brahmā, O Cause of all, O Dark One: for me, your servant, a day without food brings no hunger at all. But the days when I do not meditate without ceasing on Namō Nārāyaṇa, the days when I do not come to your feet with the Ṛk, the Yajus and the Sāma Veda and with freshly opened flowers: if these fail me, that day is a day of starving for me.
