In plain words

The poet, to the Lord of Tirumāliruñcōlai: I wandered and toiled for many leagues, and there was no shade there, and no water; apart from the shade of your feet I see no other place of relief anywhere. O you who, for the sake of the Pāṇḍavas of the Kuru line, went there as messenger, professing a false kinship [with the Kauravas], sowed discord between the two sides and made corpses of all of them [the Kauravas], O my father of Tirumāliruñcōlai.
