In plain words
The poet, to the people of the world: If you wish all that crowds in upon you, the deeds that have clung and are hard to shed, with sorrow, sickness and sin, to turn back and leave, your refuge is he who long ago, one day [as Rāma], set his bow in his lovely hand so that the strength of Rāvaṇa, who had kept her of the slender waist [Sītā] in Laṅkā, was destroyed.
