In plain words
Begampura is the name of that city. No pain and no grieving live in that place. No anxiety there, no tax on goods, no levy on what a man owns. No fear, no fault, no dread, no falling away. Now I have found a good country to live in. There, my brother, it is always well. *(refrain)* Its sovereignty stands firm and lasts for ever. No one second, no one third: there they are all one. The place is full of people and its name is known everywhere. Those who live there are rich, and they have enough. They walk about wherever they please. They know the palace, and nobody stops them at the door. Says Ravidās, the freed cobbler: whoever is a citizen with me is a friend of mine. *Begampura*, the city where there is no *gham*, no sorrow.
