In plain words

This birth is hard to come by, the fruit of good deeds, and it goes to waste for want of discernment. A house and a throne to equal King Indra's: without bhagati to Hari, tell me, what do they count for? You have not considered the *ras* of Rām the King, the ras in which all other ras is forgotten. *(refrain)* We knew, and we turned ignorant; we are madmen; thinking, not thinking, the days go by. The senses are strong, the discerning mind is weak, and into the highest good there is no entry. One thing is said and quite another is done; none of it can be understood; māyā has no limit. Says Ravidās, your servant's mind is downcast; put your anger away and show this soul mercy. *ras*, the juice of a thing, its taste and the relish of it.
