Among the Teachers
Those who keep the Ṛgveda, the Veda of sacred hymns, study a portion of the Veda every day, and after their study they make offerings to satisfy the seers and teachers who handed it down, naming them one by one. Among those names they speak hers: Gārgī Vācaknavī.
So the woman who stood up in Janaka's assembly, and was told not to ask too far, and asked again, is honoured every day by those who keep the Veda, as one of its teachers.
