Viśvavārā

Viśvavārā is the woman of the Ṛgveda, the Veda of sacred hymns, who goes eastward at dawn to the kindled fire, praising the gods with homage and with the ladle of ghee, the clarified butter poured into the fire as an offering. Her hymn to Agni, the god of the sacred fire, asks for great good fortune and for the bond of husband and wife to be well ordered.
