In plain words
The poet, to the Lord: O wondrous one who came as a cowherd! You are the six duties [beginning with learning the Veda], the six seasons fit for the rites, and the six sacrifices; you are the five great offerings, the five offerings to the vital airs, and the five sacred fires. You are the two of exalted wealth [knowledge and detachment], the three fruits [of devotion], the seven aids to devotion, the six qualities that nurture it, and the eight qualities of the freed soul. You became the many differing systems of knowledge [of those who reject the Vedas or misread them]; you are true [to those who seek you], and false too [to those who seek lesser ends]; and [for those of highest devotion] you became the five, touch and sound and the rest.
