Verse 16

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

The poet, to the Lord: You appear in your radiant, divine form among the foremost kind [the gods], the lowliest [the plants] and the mixed kinds [men and beasts]; and though you come and stand so that even the things that stand still may see and enjoy you, the vast and eternal bodies of scripture cannot comprehend you, by the plain sense of their words or by their inner meaning. The greatness they make known, vast as ranges of mountains, is your own greatness alone.
