You have earned the learning that kings honour — what of it? You have gathered wealth thick with power and standing — what of it? You have had the woman with the beautiful body — what of it, if you never once came face to face with your own Ātma?

Learning honoured by kings has been obtained — from that, what? Wealth abounding in power and pre-eminence has been attained — from that, what? A woman of beautiful body has been enjoyed — from that, what? — for one by whom his own Ātma was not at all directly realized.
