The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Aparokṣānubhūtiḥ

Verse 128

लयस्तमश्च विक्षेपो रसास्वादश्च शून्यता ।एवं यद्विघ्नबाहुल्यं त्याज्यं ब्रह्मविदा शनैः ॥ १२८ ॥

In plain words

Sinking into sleep. Dull inertia. Scattered distraction. Stopping to savour the sweetness. Blank emptiness. Obstacles arrive in crowds like this, and the knower of Brahman must let go of them all, slowly.

Close to the Sanskrit

Lapsing into torpor, and inertia, distraction, the savouring of taste, and blankness — whatever such multitude of obstacles there is, is to be abandoned gradually by the knower of Brahman.
