The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Aparokṣānubhūtiḥ

Verse 14

अज्ञानप्रभवं सर्वं ज्ञानेन प्रविलीयते ।सङ्कल्पो विविधः कर्ता विचारः सोऽयमीदृशः ॥ १४ ॥

In plain words

Everything that came out of ignorance dissolves the moment knowledge arrives. And the maker of it all is saṅkalpa, the mind conceiving in a thousand ways. That is inquiry — and this is exactly what it looks like.

Close to the Sanskrit

All that has its origin in ignorance dissolves utterly by knowledge. Manifold conception is the maker. That inquiry — this one — is of such a kind.
