The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Aparokṣānubhūtiḥ

Verse 19

In plain words

The Self is made of knowing, and it is pure. The body is made of flesh, and it is not. Yet people look at the two and plainly see one thing. What ignorance goes deeper than that?

Close to the Sanskrit

The Self is made of knowledge, pure; the body is made of flesh, impure. Of those two they fully see the oneness — what ignorance is greater than this?
