The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Aparokṣānubhūtiḥ

Verse 23

In plain words

"I am the body" — that is what this deluded man decides, and there he stays. And alas, he stays there even after knowing "this is mine" — always, like the man looking at a pot.

Close to the Sanskrit

"I am the body" — having thought thus, this deluded person remains, alas!, even having known "this is mine," like the seer of a pot, always.
