In plain words
The Ātman never changes. The intellect never knows anything on its own — not once, not ever. And the jīva, having taken all of this in completely, still slips and thinks: I am the knower, I am the seer.
Close to the Sanskrit
Of the Self there is no modification; of the intellect there is no awareness ever — thus. The jīva, having known all this fully, is deluded, thinking 'I am the knower, I am the seer'.
