The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Brahmānucintanaṃ

Verse 8

In plain words

I am the Self, and nothing other than that. I am Brahman — sorrow gets no share of me. Being, awareness, bliss: that is my form. Eternally free — that is simply my nature.

Close to the Sanskrit

I am the Self, and I am not any other; I alone am Brahman, not a partaker of sorrow. I am of the form of being, consciousness and bliss, possessing a nature that is eternally free.
