In plain words
Water heated by fire takes on the heat, and then the water warms the body. In the same way, Cit — consciousness — lights the intellect. Carrying that reflected light, the intellect lights up another object.
Close to the Sanskrit
Water heated by fire, being furnished with heat, is the heater of the body; so too the intellect, illumined by Cit — consciousness — and furnished with the reflection of that, would illumine another.
