In plain words
All the sin that a hundred crore savage penances can burn away, all the merit that horse-sacrifices can win — every bit of it is already inside the merit of one bath at Maṇikarṇikā. And the man who bathes there and recites this hymn steps across the ocean of saṃsāra as if it were a puddle, and walks into Brahman's own home, which is made of nothing but light.
Close to the Sanskrit
Whatever destruction of one's own sins comes by hundreds of crores of harsh penances, and whatever fruit by Aśvamedha sacrifices — all that would be found already entered into the merit born of bathing at Maṇikarṇikā. And if a man, having bathed, recites this hymn, then, having crossed the ocean of saṃsāra as though it were a puddle, he goes to the light-made abode of Brahman.
