Verse 14

कोऽनर्थफलो मानः का सुखदा साधुजनमैत्री ।सर्वव्यसनविनाशे को दक्षः सर्वथा त्यागी ॥ १३ ॥

In plain words

What bears disaster as its fruit? Arrogance. What brings true joy? Companionship with the wise. And who is truly capable of overcoming every sorrow? One who has surrendered everything.

What has misfortune as its fruit? Pride. What gives happiness? Friendship with the wise. In destroying all calamities, who is expert? He who is a renouncer in every way.
