। ॥ ५९९ ॥
In plain words
All this shines because of his light — and his light is his own. So what could possibly light him up, any more than something could light up the sun? Intelligence and everything of its kind is inert. Nowhere on earth do you find a lamp for the sun; and it is exactly so with the Self. There is no other light that reveals it, no one else who experiences it, and nothing at all beyond it.
Close to the Sanskrit
By whose radiance all this shines forth — for that self-luminous one, as in the case of the sun, what illuminator is there here? Intellect and the rest are all inert. Indeed, no illuminator of the sun is seen anywhere on the earth's surface; and just so, of the Self there is no other illuminer whatsoever, no experiencer; there is nothing at all higher than this.
