। ॥ ८६४ ॥

In plain words

Once a seeker ascends into meditative absorption, any other secondary action is completely improper for him. A mind caught up in external rituals inevitably falls, just like someone foolishly trying to scale a sheer palm tree.

Close to the Sanskrit

Whosoever aspires to yoga, for him any other action is not proper even slightly. One whose mind is attached to other actions falls certainly, like one who climbs a palmyra tree.
