। ॥ १०० ॥
In plain words
To praise you with words that are yours, O Mother of speech, is like waving a lamp before the sun, offering the moon a few drops from a moonstone, or satisfying the ocean with its own waters.
Close to the Sanskrit
With the flames of a lamp, the rite of light-waving to the day-maker; with droplets of water from moonstones, the fashioning of an arghya-offering to the nectar-source; with its own waters, the satisfying of the ocean — with words that are yours, O Mother of speech, this praise of you.
