। ॥ ८१ ॥
In plain words
O Pārvatī, the king of mountains carved the weight and the breadth out of his own flank and set them down in you as your dowry. So now this heavy, wide sweep of your hips hides the whole treasure-laden earth from view — and leaves it the lighter of the two.
Close to the Sanskrit
Heaviness and breadth, O Pārvatī, the lord of the earth-bearing mountains, having cut them away from his own slope, deposited in you in the form of a dowry. Hence this broad and heavy forward-mass of your hips hides the entire wealth-bearing earth and brings it to lightness.
